pronghorn

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to art and the natural sciences. My young aspirations included being a children's book illustrator, paleontologist, archeologist, wildlife rehabilitator, astronomer, botanist and biologist.

Traveling extensively throughout North America has only added to my desire to capture on paper what I see in the natural world.

When painting, I use watercolor or acrylic paints, sometimes sharpening details with colored pencil. I use pen and ink for black & white illustrations. I work mostly on watercolor paper or illustration board.

Although I consider myself to be a self-taught artist, I have participated in "formal" art classes at Moore College of Art & Design; Beaver College (now Arcadia University); Bucks County Community College and two amazing week-long seminars with the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators at Eagle Hill/Humboldt Field Research Institute in Steuben, ME.
